How to quake a giggle,

with a pensive mind indeed…

Mulling over rhymes,

leaves my mind to steep.

What is funny after all?

Who is to say ‘is not’?

Life is abundant with silly things,

though most of them, I forgot.

A trip over a banana peel;

a knock-knock of jokes;

a mooning of a pant-less lad;

or cracking over someone’s head a handful of yolks?

Would these suffice a laugh or two?

Or would the faces lay blank?

My humor is neither here nor there;

for it is as dry as a burnt cake.

I fancy not the humor of things,

but the universal joke that is played upon you and I:

No matter what he - she - they - we - think is humorous in life

- In the end, we all will die!
